Bob Hackworth for Congress

A Brief Message from Bob Hackworth

I'm running for Congress because I feel strongly that we must address the important issues facing our nation: a struggling economy including thousands of homeowners losing their homes to foreclosure, escalating health care costs—over 47 million Americans without health insurance, bailouts for Wall Street but none for Main Street, and an end to a dubious and costly war in Iraq.

It is long past time for Congress to have tackled these problems! After eight failed years of President Bush and 38 years of U.S. Representative C.W. "Bill" Young, we need to send a politician to Washington who will get it right for the American people.

I have Hope for a brighter future in America, a Vision of how we can work together toward that future, and the Leadership skills to make that vision a reality. Please join me.

They assumed that if they put most of the nation's real powers -- over war, taxes and spending -- in the hands of the people themselves, through their representatives, those representatives would do their duty and prevent an American president from acting as though he were king.
